Twice in a year the Dotterel pass by Switzerland on its migratory travel. Usually, sightings of the species are rare in spring, but much more abundant in autumn. They stop at the exact same places each year, which is a wonder of nature and still difficult to understand how they find their routes each and every time.

Not being able to come to the place last year, I decided to go a bit earlier this year, and to camp at the top. My friend Thomas joined me in the adventure which proved to be quite… colder than expected! 😉

We headed to the top of the Crêta under a strong wind combined with rain/ice at the very top. Soaked wet, we quickly built the tents and tried to warm in the sleeping bag while cooking the traditional pasta. Thomas took the refreshments as well with him, which helped to get our moods up.
